Evaluate 2 - Competencies

The following activities are with second grade students. 

STANDARD:
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.2.7
Use information gained from the illustrations and words in a print or digital text to demonstrate understanding of its characters, setting, or plot.


After reading the required assignment, the student will make a flip book showing competency in demonstrating understanding of its characters, setting, and plot.  young students often work better when doing a hands on activity.  After completing the assignment, each student will log into their Seesaw account and retell their flip book.  This will help the teacher in seeing if they can recall what they have read and written about the literature.  After the teacher approves the content, other classmates will also be able to see what their classmates are doing. They may also comment on their content if it is an approved comment.

The second activity will include students doing the "five finger retell". They will write on each finger of the hand to retell the story.  Students will upload and turn in their finished product to the teacher.

Create 1- Time Management 1.     OneNote   OneNote :   This tool is used by first creating a notebook one OneNote. You can then write notes to keep your data organized. OneNote makes it easy to find the notes you have written making it easier on yourself. This tool would be most helpful in a professional setting. When doing work for your job, you can make easy to find file folders taking some stress off of yourself. This would be perfect for students and or professionals doing research projects. I feel like I could use this from an instructor standpoint. Navigate 1 - Screen Capture

Navigate 1- Screen Capture I used the Screencastify chrome extension. This would be great to use in an online classroom because I can show them exactly how reading phrases fluently should be done. Many students still read like a "robot". We are trying to help them read like we talk. Using this program allowed me to show the powerpoint and read it so they would have an example. When students are out, they can look online where I post work and be able to continue from outside the classroom. Here is a link to my video.
