Digital Citizenship for the primary grades


Character traits of a digital citizen commonly are: being safe, protecting your identity, and being respectful of others online, and most importantly being responsible. Many times we hear on the news where students are being bullied online. At the primary level, we are trying to teach students to be respectful of others. You can't hide behind a screen all the time. You should never hurt another child's feelings by saying rude things to them.  We also discuss being responsible by protecting your identity. Students never want to put out important information about their name, age, or where they live.  Students must realize what they put out there will always be there and be able to be found. You must think twice before you add anything to the internet.

Create 1- Time Management 1.     OneNote   OneNote :   This tool is used by first creating a notebook one OneNote. You can then write notes to keep your data organized. OneNote makes it easy to find the notes you have written making it easier on yourself. This tool would be most helpful in a professional setting. When doing work for your job, you can make easy to find file folders taking some stress off of yourself. This would be perfect for students and or professionals doing research projects. I feel like I could use this from an instructor standpoint. Navigate 1 - Screen Capture

Navigate 1- Screen Capture I used the Screencastify chrome extension. This would be great to use in an online classroom because I can show them exactly how reading phrases fluently should be done. Many students still read like a "robot". We are trying to help them read like we talk. Using this program allowed me to show the powerpoint and read it so they would have an example. When students are out, they can look online where I post work and be able to continue from outside the classroom. Here is a link to my video.
